Alkis Voliotis
After graduating from Aristotle University of Thessalonica (Greece) with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Hons), Alkis went on to obtain an M.Sc in History of Science, Technology and Medicine (First Class Hons) from Imperial College of London.
Alkis joined Firstco as a graduate engineer in January 2006 and one of his first roles was software development and systems commissioning for the PLC/SCADA on the Heathrow Express extension to Terminal 5. He has also taken a leading role in supporting the Heathrow Express Tunnel Control System, with a main focus on the PLC/SCADA infrastructure.
Alkis is currently working as a design engineer with the Master Systems Integrator (Siemens) for the new BAA Terminal (T2A) project. As a member of the Communications team, his responsibilities include designing, planning and preparing tender documents for the IPTV and Wireless LAN systems of the new terminal building.
Alkis is member of the Institute of Engineering Technology (IET) and is working towards Chartered Engineer status (CEng).
