Designing solutions for the Intermediate Shafts at Crossrail with Jacobs - 17th December 09

Firstco have been appointed as Interface Managers by Jacobs Engineering who are designing the solutions for the Intermediate Shafts on the central (tunnelled) section of the Crossrail project.

There are 6 shafts in the Central Tunnel Section of the project, from the Abbey Wood and Custom House portals in the east to the Royal Oak portal in the West. These shafts provide maintenance access and intervention and evacuation routes in the event of sub-surface incidents.

Firstco will provide a Systems Engineering and Interface Management role for the multi-disciplinary team as well as specific design support for the local controls and communications systems (fire detection, utilities PLCs, PA/VA, CCTV, access control, radio, telephones).
