Ras Laffan Port Expansion
The Ras Laffan Port Project in Qatar includes the construction of breakwaters and causeways to accommodate the projected volume of traffic up to the year 2024 associated with a substantial increase of LNG, liquid products and dry cargo exports. The project value of $1.8billion will supply 103 buildings, 35km or roads, use 3 million tons of rock, 500km of low voltage cable and 400km of fibre optics.
Olive Group are providing the detailed design for the Ras Laffan Port security on behalf of Consolidated Construction International Corporation and Qatar Petroleum . Firstco were appointed by Olive Group to assist in the detailed design of the security system.
Firstco provided detailed design for the CCTV system which consists of ground radar, thermal imaging and standard CCTV cameras integrated into the Honeywell DVM soft-ware over a Cisco Ethernet network. Firstco also provided detailed design for the two control rooms providing overall awareness of the security system including personal and vehicle screening, CCTV and Access Control.
Firstco successfully integrated into the design team based in Abu Dhabi providing a core design role. This included detailed design, meetings, design reviews and presentations to stakeholders. Deliverables were supplied on time with a detailed bill of quantity, planning aids, power consumptions and network loading data.
